If you google hyperbarics or check on ebay, you will find a ton of ads for portable hyperbaric chambers. A 28″ diameter by 7 foot long model sells for about $5500. they are rated for 4 psi or 1.3 ATA. There are lots of testimonials about these u nits on the web.
However, these units should not be compared to a treatment received in a steel hyperbaric chamber capable of 3- 6 ATA pressure.
In my opinion, many parents are buying these devices hoping to effect a cure for their children’s diseases such as autism, cerebral palsy, MS, etc. There are several safety concerns in having these units in the home as well as the fact that there is very little research showing these devices work as some are promoting them.
There is no substitute for a treatment regime supervised by a doctor in a hard hyperbaric chamber capable of reaching pressures that have been clinically proven to be effective in promoting a cure for disease.
